Miami - Day #5

Hello from Miami – Day #5

Hello again!  Day #5 (conference day #3) is complete, so only a half day to go and then we’re done.  I’ve said it before, but I’ll repeat it today – it’s always weird how, when you start the meeting, you think it’s going to take forever to get done – and then suddenly you’re packing up and doing your online check-in to head home.  I’m sure that the time has not passed as quickly for our families at home, but that’s how it seems on this end.

Saturday’s session went pretty well.  No major issues to report.  We’ve had a few recurring problems, but we’ve figured out how to head them off before they arise, so that part is going smoothly (for now – however, the last day is when strange things happen – like someone’s computer shutting down just out of the blue (during their presentation) and weird things like that – so I’ll let you know how Sunday wraps up).

After the Saturday session was complete we went out for dinner.  Not a lot to report really.  Alec wanted to hit a steak house, so we got info at the front desk and headed off to a place called “Porterhouse.”  It was very good.  One funny thing – the menu said, “ask us about our fresh fish of the day,” so Alec asked what the fresh fish was and our server answered, “Salmon.”  I didn’t know that salmon was native to this region.

After dinner, a brief stop at a souvenir shop called Wings.  We bought a few t-shirts just in case Sunday’s trip to a local mall turns out to be a bust.

That’s really about it.  I know, it was a pretty uneventful day for being a Saturday.  I’m old and boring.  Sorry.

Anyway – Sunday is a half day, then tearing down.  We have to tear down quickly, as there is another program starting at 4:00 in our room.

So – bye for now.  Stay warm, stay well.
