Miami - Day #3

Hello from Florida – Day #3

Hello again!  This log entry will probably be a bit shorter than days # 1 and 2.

Today was the first day of the program.  There was a lot of interesting information.  Don’t ask me what it was because I didn’t understand most of it, let alone retain it.  But some was still interesting.

There was a welcome reception at the end of the day.  One of the women at our table is expecting twins in September.  Since these were her first kids, I had to give her my standard advice (being the “expert” I am (yeah, right)) – sleep when you can – no, really sleep – you’ll thank me later, and then to be sure to enjoy the 3:00 a.m. feedings when you’re more tired than you’ve ever been in your entire life, because they are truly the best times ever and they end far too soon.  Overall, the reception was a good time, since it didn’t degenerate into continuous “shop talk” where I don’t’ understand a single word.  The food was pretty good too.

After that, Skyping home, and then shopping for some groceries/snacks.  Walgreens and CVS are my best friends.  They’re in just about every city that I travel to.

One thing worth mentioning, but perhaps only my Mayo friends will appreciate – the voice in the Trump elevators is the same as the voice in the Mayo Clinic elevators . . . you know the one, “Tenth floor, going up” – yeah, that one.  It’s kind of like being home.

Anyway – that’s about it for today.

Be well, be warm, be safe.
